Presentation: Heidar RannversonArtists‘ books have an ambiguous status as objects of art: Books to be looked at - art to be read. The presentation, in form of a lecture, proposes a new reading of the artist‘s book that demonstrates how it can function in theory and practice. That is, in what way can it be a vehicle for information while also engaging in or testifying for artistic creation itself? What can one read from artists’ books in terms of research in the arts?
Presentation: Paula SalasFluid portraits: a research into postcolonial identities.‘In times like ours, when stability and authenticity seem to have lost their social value, and identity is being theorized as interweaving flows that define self-understanding and behavior, I wonder how such an identity can be portrayed. Are traditional portrayal strategies capable of depicting postcolonial identities? How are contemporary artists shaping these fugitive identities and how are they changing the practice of portraiture? These are the main questions that will be address in this presentation.
